Application Instructions
An opportunity to train in Brachytherapy for urologists and urological oncologists
Prostate Brachytherapy Fellowship Programme supported by Oncura in association with The Prostate Cancer Centre, Guildford, UK and the Seattle Prostate Institute, USA.
These opportunities are available due to a joint initiative between Oncura and the British Urological Foundation. A maximum of six preceptorships will be funded by Oncura in 2007. £5000 will be awarded to successful applicants to enable them to complete the preceptorship.
Applicants should
- be Specialist Registrars (year 5/6 or Consultants within five years of appointment) and have ultrasound experience
- be looking to specialise in the treatment of prostate cancer
- have a commitment to advancing Brachytherapy. An agreement to teach on BAUS section of Oncology/Office of Education Skills Courses for a minimum of two years will be sought as well as agreement to act as mentor to individual surgeons
- produce a letter of support from the hospital manager confirming the intent to offer Brachytherapy
